Finally got that stubborn fuel line leak on a Cessna 172. Took me 3 hours to find it was just a worn O-ring in the quick disconnect.

Three hours for an O-ring, classic. Bet you checked everything twice before looking at the cheapest part in the whole system. That's always how it goes, the fix is five cents and five minutes after you've already lost your mind. At least the plane didn't fall apart while you were looking.

You're right about checking everything twice. I've been there staring at a fuel stain for an hour, sure it's a cracked line. Your brain just skips over the simple stuff. It feels like the plane is playing a trick on you. The easiest fix always comes after the biggest headache.
