Thinking back to my first heavy check at Delta in '08

I was digging through some old logbooks last week and found my entry from 3 years ago when we changed out a GE CF6-80C2 on a 767 at ATL. The way we used to do engine swaps back then compared to now with all the quick-disconnect tooling is night and day. Has anyone else noticed how much faster the newer torque wrenches make line maintenance?

Heard from a buddy at SWA that their newer digital torque tools have cut engine swap times by like 20% at least. Crazy how far things have come even since 2018.

We switched to the digital stuff at my old shop back in 2021 and our first big job was a full engine pull on a 737, went about 6 hours faster than the old manual tools would have let us. That kind of time savings adds up quick when you're doing multiple swaps a week.
