Found out my own panel was reporting false tamper alerts through the app logs

Pulled the diagnostic logs from a panel I installed myself 6 months ago and saw it had been firing off tamper signals every 3 days due to a loose cover screw I never tightened, has anyone else caught their own gear lying to them like that?

Last year I found a motion sensor from a different brand that was sending false alerts because I had mounted it too close to a vent. Took three service calls and a ladder before I realized the warm air was tricking it. Now I double check every screw and sensor placement before I walk away from a job.

Got into a similar mess with a camera looking out a window that faced east @perry.lee. Kept getting night vision flipping on and off at sunrise until I realized the glass temp change was confusing it. What finally worked was physically moving the whole housing back from the window pane by about an inch so the sensor wasn't reading the glass surface temp directly. Also added a tiny foam baffle around the lens housing to block any drafts from the window seal. Took me longer than I want to admit to figure that one out. Now I always check for any nearby heat source or surface that could mess with readings before I finalize a mount.
