New build stucco vs. retrofitting old plaster, I picked wrong
Back in 2017 I had to choose between a new build on the west side or buying a 1975 house near Nob Hill and fixing the original stucco myself. I went with the old place because the lot was bigger, but after 6 months the plaster started cracking near the windows and water got behind it. Spent about $4,200 on patching and sealing, and it still doesn't look as clean as the new build would have. If I had to do it again, I'd pay the extra $30k for new construction just to skip the hidden rot issues. Anyone else regret going with an older home here in Albuquerque?

Hidden rot sucks... $30k sounds cheap compared to those headaches.
