Binged a 90s mecha series over the weekend and the pacing is painfully slow compared to today's shows
I counted 7 minutes of actual robot action across 4 episodes of Gundam Wing - the rest is just staring at clouds and talking about pacifism, so how do you guys even get through old anime without falling asleep?

Ditch the fast food mentality. Those slow scenes are building character and stakes so the fights actually mean something. If you just want explosions every 3 minutes go watch a Michael Bay movie. Gundam Wing is about war and its consequences not just cool robots punching each other. The pacing lets you care about the pilots and their reasons for fighting. That tension pays off way better than a constant stream of action that numbs you out. You missed the whole point if you think the mecha fights are the main event.

Oh man, you really walked right into that one. So you're saying you sat through 4 episodes of Gundam Wing and only paid attention during the 7 minutes of robots hitting each other? That's like watching a steak dinner but only liking the sound of the sizzle. The clouds and talking are what make the punches actually hurt when they finally land. But hey, if you need a fight scene every time you blink, maybe try flipping channels between wrestling and a Michael Bay marathon. That should keep your attention span from wandering off the leash.
