I keep noticing people calling 'One Punch Man' a parody but it's really more of a deconstruction

I mean, I saw someone last week on Reddit say it's just a comedy gag manga, but after reading through the whole thing twice the serious character studies and moral dilemmas hit way harder than any of the jokes do. Am I the only one who thinks the fandom undersells how deep the hero rankings plotline actually is?

Wait, people actually think this is just a gag manga? @the_miles is right, the hero ranking system alone is a better critique of modern society than most serious shows manage.
