Watching anime discourse devolve into clickbait headlines has me nostalgic

I miss when online conversations about series involved actual analysis and shared passion. These days, it's just rage-bait thumbnails and shallow arguments that never go deeper than surface level. When did we stop trying to understand the stories we love?

Ran into an old classmate who brought up our EPIC breakdown of 1984 out of nowhere. She said she misses those talks so much she tried explaining themes to her cat, and now the cat JUDGES her life choices.

What?! Those deep dives were practically literary therapy sessions (seriously, we got way too invested). I still have notes from our three-hour debate on the green light in Gatsby. Frankly, I'm a little scared to reopen that document.
