Took my new telescope to the same spot as my old one, night and day difference
I used to fight with a 20 year old refractor that gave everything a blue haze, drove me nuts trying to get Jupiter's bands. Last week I dragged my new 8 inch dobsonian to the same field in Ohio and the moon looked like a 3D model, I could see the craters' shadows. Anyone else had that moment where upgrading gear made you realize your old shots were just fighting the scope the whole time?

My buddy had the same thing with his old spotting scope, he thought Saturn was just a fuzzy blob for years. Got a cheap 6 inch and almost fell over when he saw the rings for the first time, said he felt like he'd been using a dirty window the whole time.
