Had to pick between OEM and aftermarket on a 2018 Civic, went OEM for once
Customer's insurance gave me the option to use aftermarket fenders on their 2018 Civic after a sideswipe last month in Portland. Usually I push aftermarket to keep costs down and save them money, but this one had a previous repair that was already misaligned. I went OEM for the front fender, about $140 more, because the gaps on these newer Hondas are picky. Fitment was perfect on the first try, no shimming or tweaking needed. The painter said the e-coat held up better than the cheap stuff I normally get. Anyone else notice OEM parts saving you time on certain models even if it eats into the quote?
