Matte paint is popping up on every other car lately, how do you tackle scratch repairs on it?

I'm dealing with more matte finishes and could use advice on fixing scratches without messing up the flat look.

Man, tell me about it. Those matte wraps and paints are everywhere now, and they seem to scratch if you just look at them wrong. What sucks is you can't just buff it out like normal clear coat, that'll make a shiny spot and ruin the whole flat look. I've heard you basically need a special matte touch-up kit from the paint maker, and even then it's a real art to blend it. Honestly, it feels like half the time you're better off taking it to a pro who works on matte finishes, which is a huge pain.

It's why I'd never get a matte finish on a daily driver.

What about when matte paint gets stains from things like bugs or road tar? I heard it can eat into the finish way faster than on glossy paint. You have to clean it off super quick with the right stuff, or it leaves a permanent mark. Plus, regular wax will mess up the matte look, so you're stuck using special sealants that cost more.
