Spray gun cup leaked all over a finished hood this morning
Iwata cup seal gave out mid-clear on a 2023 Sierra hood in Austin. Ran a full pass then looked down and saw streaks running off the edge. Stripped it back to bare metal and redid the whole panel. 2 hours shot because I skipped checking that damn O-ring. Anyone else swap those seals on a schedule or just wait for the mess?

Bought a used Iwata off a buddy a few years back and the first thing I did was tear it apart and replace every seal in it. Took me an afternoon and I still think about those mystery crumbs that came out of the vent holes. Now I just keep a spare O-ring kit in the truck and swap them every spring regardless of how they look. The weather in Texas does weird stuff to rubber, hot days just bake it brittle. Cost me a whole rear quarter panel once on a Chevelle because I trusted a seal that looked fine. Lesson stuck with me. What kind of cups are you running, the plastic liners or the metal ones?
