I keep seeing guys in every shop I've worked at say you can't do exhaust without a two-post lift. I did a full cat-back swap on my 2012 Civic last Saturday in my driveway with just Rhino Ramps and two 3-ton jack stands, took me about 3 hours. The trick is you need a good penetrating oil and a breaker bar, not a lift. I soaked every bolt with PB Blaster the night before and hit them again that morning, and not one stud snapped. A lift just makes it faster, it doesn't make it possible. The real problem is people don't give the penetrant time to work and they rush the rusted flange bolts. Anyone else been told they needed a lift for a job that's totally doable on the ground?
