Spent $70 on a magnetic mount for my dash cam before a 1,200 mile move, and it was money well spent
Drove from Dallas to Denver with the car shipped separately, and that little $70 mount kept the cam stuck to the windshield the whole way instead of sliding around on the dash. Anyone else use a dash cam when they relocate a car, or do you just trust the transport company?

Seventy bucks for a mount just to film a drive you're not even in the car for seems like a lot. If the transport company wrecks or scratches your ride, a dash cam pointed out the windshield won't show the damage anyway, it only sees the road ahead. The real proof you'd want is a walk around video before and after, plus their insurance paperwork. Save the money and put it toward a good inspection when the car lands.
