The $85 'port fee' buried in my car shipping quote from Newark
I shipped my Subaru from Newark to Phoenix back in March and the quote I signed was $1,150, but the final bill came in at $1,235 because of a line item called a terminal handling fee that nobody mentioned on the phone. I found the real number buried on page 3 of the contract after a guy on another forum told me to look for it. The broker kept saying the price was locked in, but the actual carrier was a separate company that added fees on delivery day. I paid it cause my car was sitting there and I had no ride, but I should have read that paperwork way closer. Has anyone here pushed back on those fees after the car was already dropped off, and did it go anywhere?
