My bank froze my paycheck deposit for 3 days and I had $22 in my account
Last Tuesday I got paid, direct deposit, same job for 4 years, never a problem. Wednesday morning I go to buy groceries at the Kroger on High Street and my card gets declined. I check my app and the deposit went in, then got pulled right back out. I call customer service and the guy says it got flagged as 'unusual activity' because the amount was $40 higher than normal. Forty dollars! I ask what triggered it and he just keeps saying 'security review' like that's a real answer. I had $22 in my account for 3 days while they 'reviewed' my own paycheck from my own employer. I ended up borrowing $60 from my neighbor just to get gas and food. When they finally released it Friday, no apology, no explanation, nothing. Has this happened to anyone else, and is there a bank that doesn't treat a slightly bigger paycheck like I'm laundering cartel money?
