A tiny library in Portland made me rethink banned book lists

I was killing time at a little free library near Laurelhurst Park last month and someone had stuffed a copy of 'The Giver' in there with a sticky note saying 'read this before they take it away.' That got me thinking about how many classic banned books I'd never actually picked up, so I started checking my library's digital collection for the usual suspects. Has anyone else had a random encounter like that push them to finally read something on a censorship list?
