Banned list in my hometown library included a book I actually liked reading
Found out last week that my old public library in Dayton pulled 12 titles off the shelves. One of them was a YA novel I checked out like 3 times back in the 90s. People keep arguing it's about bad behavior or whatever, but nobody mentions it was one of the few books that showed a kid dealing with real family stuff. Is the point of banning always about the scary parts, or are we just ignoring what the book actually does for the reader?
