Banned from my local hiking group after pointing out safety risks on a popular trail
I shared in our group's chat about loose rocks and erosion on the main trail after last week's rain. The admins said I was causing panic and banned me for 'unapproved safety alerts.' It sucks because I just wanted to help folks avoid getting hurt. How do you keep sharing important info when the group won't listen?

Ended up posting trail warnings on a public hiking site. People actually listened and shared it around.

WHAT they called it "unapproved safety alerts"?? That's honestly terrifying they care more about rules than people not falling off a trail. Your story and sethknight's prove some groups just want a pretty page with no real problems. I'd ditch that group completely and post warnings where it actually helps people, like a public trail site or forum. It's crazy how the official places sometimes hide the stuff we MOST need to know.

Seriously? I got shut down for mentioning a washed out section on our state park's facebook page. Posted the same photos on a trail forum and suddenly rangers were fixing it the next week.
