Vent: A friend in Denver made me question why I even fight back
Had coffee with an old buddy last Thursday, the one who got let go from his job for posting a union flyer on the break room board. He told me he stopped appealing the ban because nobody read his side anyway, and it kinda hit me that I do the same thing after a ban. I spent 2 hours crafting a response to a subreddit mod once, only to delete it because I figured it would just get me muted longer. Is there a point to pushing back when the people who banned you already made up their minds, or do you keep talking just for your own sanity? Anyone else feel like the appeal is more for us than for them?

Why does the appeal even matter if the mods already hit that mute button the second they saw your username? That response you drafted woulda just sat in their queue, getting ignored while you stress over every comma. They banned your buddy for a union flyer, which tells you all you need to know about how open their minds are. The only person reading your appeal is you, and honestly that's just you talking to a wall. Spend that two hours doing literally anything else, go for a walk or play a game. The ban already happened, the mods already won, so why give them more of your time?
