A mod deleted my post for saying 'location matters' in a hiking group

Last month in a regional backpacking group, someone asked for trail recommendations and I replied that a popular spot in the Smokies requires a permit now. A mod messaged me saying my comment was 'fear mongering' and removed it. I tried to explain I got nailed with a $150 fine there in 2022, but they just muted me for a week. Has anyone else had a mod scrub basic safety info that they didn't like?
