I finally found a way around the campus speaker ban without breaking rules

My school banned outside speakers after that incident in March. Everyone kept complaining about it, but nobody did anything. I tried the guest lecture loophole, but the dean shot it down in 2 days. Then last month I realized the rule only covers speakers on campus property. The student union building is technically owned by the county, not the school. So I booked the basement room there for a talk on protest history. Cost me $40 for the rental. Admin had zero say. About 60 people showed up. Has anyone else looked at the fine print on their school's building ownership to get around these bans?

County-owned loophole's smart... but check if they patch it next semester. They always do after something works. We had a similar thing with the parking garage, but the school bought it a month later. Enjoy it while it lasts.
