Pro tip: How approval committees quietly cancel college discussions

In my time at college, our group aimed to host a forum on a tough subject. The committee asked for a list of all guest names and topics weeks ahead. If we could not provide every detail, they would postpone the review. Delays meant our event slot vanished, and interest faded. I saw this happen to other clubs with different issues. It feels like a way to say no without actually saying it. The process seems fair but is set up to fail. My advice is to record all requests and replies to show the pattern.

We had a similar runaround with city permits for moving trucks in certain neighborhoods. Required three different forms from separate offices that all had to be stamped in a specific order. One missing signature meant starting over, and the parking window would expire. Saw right through that game.

So they just want you to give up, right?

Yeah, I read a piece about food trucks facing the same thing with health permits. They'd get one small correction and have to resubmit the whole packet, missing the festival date. Just feels like quiet rejection.
