Barber in my shop cut his chair rentals from 12 to 4 and swears his take-home went up
He showed me his books last Tuesday and the math actually held up, fewer heads but way less booth rent and no supply costs eating him alive. I always figured more bodies in the chair equals more money, so now I'm wondering if the standard 60/40 split is just what we do because we've always done it. Curious if anyone here has run the numbers on commission versus renting, what did it look like for you?
