Got banned from r/plumbing at exactly 500 karma, was it my fault?

I was active in that sub for about 4 months and hit 500 karma on my main account last Tuesday. Posted a pic of a sump pump job in Aurora with some tips I've used for years, and the mods removed it saying I was "self promoting" even though I never linked anything. I messaged them asking why and got muted for 7 days with zero explanation. Now I'm wondering if the 500 karma thing triggered some kind of bot or if they just hate people who post regularly. Has this happened to anyone else around a specific karma number?
