Got booted from a Facebook group for asking why a $60 "custom" cutting board was just pine from Home Depot
I got kicked out of a woodworking group last Tuesday after I pointed out a guy was selling basic pine boards as "handcrafted artisan" pieces for $60 a pop. I just asked in the comments if anyone else noticed the same grain pattern from the cheap stuff at the hardware store, and within an hour my post was gone and I was blocked. The admin sent me one message calling me a "troll" but never actually explained the rule I broke. What got me was that three other people had posted the exact same question in the previous two weeks and their posts vanished too. So now I'm wondering if this is just how hobby groups work when money gets involved. Has anyone else been banned for calling out overpriced stuff in a group they actually liked being part of?
