Rant: Got a permanent ban from Nextdoor for posting about a local police stop
I had to choose between staying quiet about a cop pulling over three kids for no clear reason in my neighborhood or posting the video. I posted it last month, and within two hours my account was gone for 'targeting public officials'. The video just showed the stop on Maple Street, no names or edits. Has anyone else been booted from a local app for sharing something that made people uncomfortable?

Used to believe those apps were just for lost pets and noisy neighbors... but seeing stuff like this makes me question the whole point. If we can't talk about real things happening on our own streets, what's left? A permanent ban for an unedited video feels like they're protecting the wrong people. Makes me wonder who else they've shut down for just telling the truth. Changes how I see these "local" spaces now.

Wait, that's not exactly how it works. Those apps have rules against posting videos of people without their okay, even in public. It's less about the truth and more about privacy stuff, which honestly gets messy. I mean, I get why it feels wrong, but the ban was probably automatic from their system.
