A guy on the Burke Gilman path in Seattle told me my rear light was too low and it's bugged me for a month
I was riding home last month on the Burke Gilman near the UW campus and this older guy in a yellow rain jacket pulled up next to me at a light. He pointed at my rear light mounted down by the rear axle and said 'nobody sees that, put it at the seat post or higher.' I kind of brushed it off but then started noticing how many cars passed me close in the dark stretch through Fremont. I moved the light up last week and it does feel like cars give me more room now. Has anyone else had a stranger call out their setup and actually been right about it?
Did he actually say seat post though? Mounting it high on the post can make it less visible when you're bent over, the real fix is usually getting it out where it's not blocked by your legs or bag.
