Rant: my barber talked me into a longer route home and now I get it
Got a haircut at Ray's on 5th and he asked how I get to the office. I said I take Grand straight down, about 4 miles, dodging doors the whole way. He laughed and said he rides 2 miles out of his way through the park just to avoid the traffic on Grand. Tried it Tuesday and yeah, 6 miles but I showed up not mad at anyone, so I guess the longer way is cheaper than my patience. Anyone got a route in this city that looks dumb on a map but works way better?
Why are you letting a barber tell you how to get home? Six miles is two extra miles of wear on your knees and your chain just so you can feel calm, which sounds like a bad trade to me. I'd rather be mad for four miles and be home.
