Finally figured out why my friends hate the season 3 finale of The Americans
Everyone keeps saying it was a pacing issue, but I think it's because the cold open mislead you into expecting a double agent reveal that never came. Has anyone else rewound that scene three times just to check if you missed something?

...like honestly I don't think it's that deep. People get so caught up in what they expected instead of what the show actually gave us. The cold open was just setting up tension, not promising a big spy reveal. I watched it once and moved on, no rewinding needed. The season 3 finale worked fine for what it was, a slow burn payoff for Stan's whole arc. Folks just want everything to be a twist now.
