Game night organizer ghosted us after 3 no-shows

Honestly, our weekly board game crew fell apart last Friday when the guy who handles the calendar just stopped responding mid-week. He was in charge of confirming who brings what, and three people showed up without the expansions we needed for Spirit Island. We ended up playing Catan for the fifth time in a row, and the whole vibe was off. I spent an hour texting him, then another hour trying to swap in a filler game that nobody really wanted. Has anyone else had a designated organizer flake out like this, and how did you get your group back on track without drama?
