I played Catan for 4 years before I figured out why I kept losing
Last month my buddy Matt finally asked why I always parked on the same two hexes and never traded for sheep, and it hit me that I had been playing every game just trying to build my own board instead of watching what everyone else needed. I checked back through about 15 games on the app and my win rate was 11 percent, which is brutal for someone who owns the game plus two expansions. Turns out when I started handing out wheat to whoever was one ore short, folks actually started dealing with me instead of around me. How long did it take you all to notice you were playing the table instead of your own hand?
