Serious question, is 87 pounds of cardboard and plastic really what one board game haul looks like?
So I finally got around to weighing my whole shelf last weekend because I was moving apartments and my back was screaming. The number that came up was 87 pounds. That is just the boxes and inserts and minis, not counting the wooden aftermarket organizers I bought over the past 18 months. It hit me that this is not a collection anymore, it is basically a small piece of furniture that I have to feed and water. My buddy who helped me carry it all up three flights of stairs in Chicago just stared at me and asked if I owned a forklift. I tried to explain that a good chunk of that weight is one campaign game with like 40 pounds of plastic dragons, and he was not impressed. The weird part is I still have a wishlist of four more games that would probably add another 25 pounds easy. Has anyone else actually weighed their shelf and been shocked, or am I the only one hauling around a hobby that needs a weight limit sticker?
