The elderly lady at the laundromat who taught me about lentils
Last Tuesday I was waiting for my dryer at the 24-hour laundromat on 5th and saw an older woman sorting a huge bag of dried lentils into jars. She told me she makes a pot of lentil soup every Sunday that feeds her for the whole week on about $4. I tried it with a cheap onion and some carrots, and honestly it's been my go-to dinner since, anyone else got a staple from a stranger like that?
