My old GPS unit still shows a road that got buried in a landslide 4 years ago

Pulled into a small town outside Reno last month for a delivery. GPS told me to take County Road 12. Road wasn't there. Big fence, orange signs, dirt pile where the asphalt used to be. Local guy at the gas station laughed and said it's been closed since 2021. Sat in my cab for 20 minutes figuring out a detour. Funny part? Radio news covered it for one day, then nothing. County website still lists it as open. Anyone else rely on outdated maps for work and almost end up in a ditch?
