The factory leak story vanished from our local news overnight

I was reading the paper online last week and saw a small piece about a chemical spill at the old plant down the road. It said there was a leak but no one was hurt. Next day, I looked for updates and found nothing. Not a word on TV or the main news sites. I talked to some folks and a friend told me the company made sure it stayed quiet. Now people are worried about their water but have no info. It's messed up how these things get swept under the rug. Does this happen in other places too?

Yeah, I mean this absolutely happens. My town had a similar thing with runoff from a construction site messing up a creek. One day it was in the news, then poof, gone. I heard the company paid for some fancy ads in the paper and it just stopped being talked about. Now folks are nervous about fishing there but there's no info. Idk, maybe it's just me but it feels like money talks way too loud in these cases.

Legal delays are just the fancy way of saying they're waiting for us to forget about it lol. Next thing you know they'll put up a shiny new park bench and call it community outreach. Money doesn't just talk, it buys the whole conversation and then changes the subject. Classic move.
