Shoutout to that one Tuesday where every CLA came out perfect

I had a day last week where every shutter speed on every Nikon FM2 I serviced was dead on after the first try. No rework, no chasing sticky blades, just clean bench work from start to finish. Has anyone else ever had one of those perfect days where the cameras just cooperate?

Oh man that lighter fluid thing gets thrown around a lot but it's not really the fix for stuck blades. The issue is usually old lubricants turning into glue or dried out damping grease, not dust or dirt. I've seen people soak a shutter in lighter fluid and it just pushes the gunk around and makes it worse. You have to pull the blades out, clean each one with naptha or something proper, and relube the pivots with the right oil. Lighter fluid might work in a pinch for a sticky aperture but it's no substitute for a real CLA.

I read on Photrio that some techs swear by a specific lighter fluid brand for stuck shutters.
