Question about that $12 headlamp I laughed at, then used for 6 nights straight
My buddy handed me a cheapo headlamp he grabbed at a gas station near Moab last month and I told him it would die by night two, but it outlasted my $60 one and I never charged it once. Now I'm wondering if I've been overpaying for lights this whole time, so what's the cheapest lamp that has actually held up for you on a real trip?

Man, that story hits close to home. My buddy bought a three dollar lamp at a truck stop in Utah as a joke and it ended up being the only light that worked when his good one flooded in a rainstorm. He still uses it two years later. The cheap ones seem to survive on pure dumb luck while the fancy ones quit when you need them most. I stopped caring about brand names after watching that.
