Chose the uncomfortable town hall over the echo chamber, zero regrets

Picked the open mic where a guy called my major a 'waste of Pell grants' over the safe student org meeting last Tuesday, and after 20 minutes of actual back and forth, three people thanked me for staying, so has anyone else found the hostile room less scary once you're in it?
