Picking up guitar after my shifts smoothed out my team meetings.
I began learning guitar to unwind from the warehouse day. It made me more patient when guiding my crew through tight deadlines. What hobbies have you picked up that made a difference in your job skills?

Actually, my buddy Mark took up woodworking to chill out after his office job. He said all the careful measuring and planning made him way more patient with his team's project timelines. Now he handles work stress better and his meetings go smoother because of it.

That thing about @the_sage's buddy and woodworking making him more patient... it really fits with the guitar thing. It's like any hobby where you have to go slow and pay close attention to your hands forces your brain to switch gears. You carry that calm, focused feeling right back to your desk... makes dealing with a rushed project feel less frantic. I guess it makes total sense for any job where you have to guide people through messy, stressful stuff.

Totally get what @charlie_chen51 is saying about that calm focus carrying over. It's like your brain learns to handle the small frustrations in a hobby, so the bigger work stuff feels more manageable. I've found the same patience from my own practice helps me plan my delivery routes better too.
