Can we talk about that new hybrid blade I grabbed from the big box store
I picked up one of those combo framing/trim blades they market as 'do-it-all' for my circular saw last month. Figured it would save me time swapping blades between rough cuts and finish work on a kitchen remodel in Columbus. First day using it on some oak trim, the tearout was brutal. Like, I had to sand and fill every single edge. What I learned is those hybrid blades are fine for cutting studs and plywood all day, but they just don't have the tooth geometry for clean finish work. I ended up buying a dedicated 60-tooth finish blade for $35 and it solved everything. Anyone else had bad luck with those combo blades on hardwoods?

Man, I feel your pain on those combo blades. I tried one last year on some cherry for a built-in bookcase and it was a total mess, chipped out way worse than yours. You just can't beat a dedicated finish blade for that smooth cut on hardwoods.

@thomas291, my last combo blade cut like I was using a dull butter knife.
