Found out standard carpet tack strip spacing is 6 inches and not 4, feel like I've been wasting my whole life
I was reading the CRI installation standards PDF last week while waiting on a delivery and saw that tack strip should be spaced 6 inches apart on center, not 4 like I've always done it. I checked with two other installers in my area and neither one of them knew that either, we all just learned 4 from whoever trained us. Does it actually matter for stretch or am I about to save myself a ton of time and strip on every job from now on?
