Switched from power stretch to knee kicker for doorways after a job in Akron
I used to pull out the power stretcher for every doorway because I thought it was faster. Then I had a job in Akron last month where the trim was so tight I busted a quarter round. Old timer named Mike showed me how a knee kicker gives you way more control in tight spots. Has anyone else found certain tools just don't work for every situation?

Power stretcher is faster if you know what you're doing. I've done hundreds of doorways with one and never had an issue. That trim in Akron was probably just cheap or the quarter round was nailed in wrong. Mike might know his stuff but old timers get stuck in their ways and think their method is the only way. Knee kickers are good for small cuts but they don't give you the leverage to actually stretch the carpet tight.

You ever had a power stretcher pop that quarter round off even when you thought you nailed it good? I just run a bead of Liquid Nails behind mine before I tack it, saves me the headache of going back to fix it.
