Update: My old power stretcher gave out on a big job in Phoenix last Tuesday

The main ratchet bar snapped clean through while I was pulling tension on a 20-foot run of commercial grade carpet. I had to finish the job with a knee kicker and a prayer, which added two hours to my day. What's the best heavy-duty stretcher you guys have used for big spaces?

Ugh, that's the worst. I switched to a solid bar stretcher too and it's a total game changer.

Check the welds on any new stretcher before you buy it. I've seen two fail at the factory seam on the main tube under heavy load. That snap you heard is the worst sound on a job site. My current one has a solid steel bar instead of a tube, and it hasn't given me a hint of trouble.
