My dad's old banned book collection sparked a tense dinner debate
Last Sunday my dad pulled out a stack of 1970s books he kept from Argentina, including one by a writer I'd never heard of named Rodolfo Walsh. He said the military junta banned them and people risked jail just for owning copies, but my cousin called it 'old propaganda not worth the risk.' It made me wonder, how do you separate historical value from the political weight when a book is banned for reasons that still sting today?
