A librarian in my town pulled a book off the shelf while I was standing right there
Two months back I was at the public library in Council Bluffs trying to check out a copy of a book about protest movements in the 60s, and the woman behind the desk pulled it from the return bin, flipped through it, and put it in a drawer instead of scanning it. I asked why and she just said the branch manager decides what stays on open shelves now. I filed a written request for the review policy and got a one page form back with no names or dates on it. How do you even push back on something that quiet?
