Finally got my sprinkler schedule down after 2 summers of waste
So I used to just run my lawn sprinklers every morning for 20 minutes, no matter what. Last summer I checked my water bill and it was up 40% compared to the year before. That got me looking into how much I actually needed, and it turned out my soil holds water way longer than I thought. Now I run the zones once every 4 days for about 12 minutes, and I use a cheap moisture meter from Ace Hardware to check before I hit the timer. The grass actually looks better and I saved close to $80 a month during peak heat. Has anyone else switched to a soak and cycle method for their own yard, or is my soil just weird?.
