My milk foam went flat for 3 weeks before I caught the real culprit
has anyone else found that their steam wand gets this hidden gunk after like a month of daily use, even if you purge it every time?

Purging it helps but that's not where the gunk hides. The real junk builds up inside the wand itself, like up past the tip where the steam holes are. You gotta unscrew the tip and soak it, otherwise you're just cleaning the easy part.
