The Saturday my espresso machine died at 7am and I discovered I'm an impatient person
I stood there for 10 minutes staring at the portafilter like it owed me money, then drove 15 miles to a gas station in Denton for their burnt drip coffee and realized I'd been using making coffee as my morning quiet time without actually noticing it, has anyone else found that the ritual is 90% of why they even bother with the fancy equipment?
Wait, did you actually drive 15 miles to Denton or was the gas station just the closest thing open at 7am? Not trying to nitpick but that part made me laugh because I've done the same panic run to a Buc-ee's before when my grinder jammed. Tbh the ritual thing is real though, half the reason I got into pour over was just wanting 20 minutes where nobody talks to me. The coffee is almost a side effect at this point.
