My attempt to organize my comics by timeline backfired spectacularly.
Now I have a wall of sticky notes that looks like conspiracy theory evidence.

Feel that deeply, my own timeline chart for a story project once took over a dining room wall. It starts so simple with a few notes, then you add one connection, then another, and suddenly you're staring at a full conspiracy board. The gap between the clean idea in your head and the crazy wall in front of you is honestly kind of impressive in a terrible way. It's the worst kind of creative chaos.

Messy charts are just part of the process. That wall of notes means you're digging deep, not losing control.

Honestly that moment when you step back and realize your nice story outline has turned into a serial killer's evidence wall. Tbh I had color-coded yarn for character links once, and my roommate just stopped in the doorway and asked if I was okay. It's like you need a whole other language just to explain your own notes to yourself. The worst part is knowing it all makes perfect sense in your head, but to anyone else it just looks like madness.
