Can we talk about that slab pour that dragged on for what felt like days?

We had a big driveway job where the mix was just not setting up right, and the clock kept ticking. Ended up waiting hours past when we should have started finishing, and it threw off our whole week. What do you do when the concrete won't cooperate and time is running out?

Used to fight it and rush to trowel anyway. Learned the hard way after a bad delamination that waiting for the mix is cheaper than a repair. Now I just tell the crew to sit down and let the chemistry work.

Remember rushing a job in humid weather and the mix never set right? We had to scrape off three bays the next morning. It cost us two days of labor and a pissed-off client. Now I watch the mix like a hawk, even if the crew grumbles about downtime. What's the longest you've had to wait for a mix to be ready, and did it save your skin?

That old mall job taught me, like @lucas_butler50 said, waiting always pays off in the long run.
